The Top 3 Most Beautiful Hiking Trails in the World

The world is full of beautiful places to visit and many of these places also offer stunning hiking trails that reveal incredible views and exciting paths to follow. From beautiful National Parks to the snow capped peaks of incredible mountains to spectacular lakes, the world is a fantastic place to explore on one of these hiking trails.

One of the most important hiking tips to consider before setting off on your hikes is ensuring that you have the appropriate hiking gear. Here at Moosehill we have got you covered, with lots of sustainable clothing options including hiking pants, trekking clothes, trail gear and much more to satisfy your hiking needs. Once you have all of the appropriate hiking essentials, you can discover the best hiking trails worldwide. Here are the top 3 most beautiful hiking trails in the world.

1.    Panorama Ridge trail, Garibaldi Provincial Park

Located in Canada, The Panorama Ridge Trail is situated in Garibaldi Provincial Park and is one of the most challenging yet rewarding hikes in North America. Once you finally reach the summit you are greeted with a breathtaking vista of the bluest lake surrounded by high jagged mountain peaks. Due to its difficulty level and incredibly steep incline especially at the start with a total elevation of 5000 ft, this should only be attempted by experienced hikers.

The trail starts with a steep incline through miles of switchbacks until you reach the stunning open Taylor Meadows with glimpses of the snow peaked mountains. Next, you will pass a creek and some glorious lakes before the last challenging climb over rocks to the very top of the summit. Here you can rest and take in the picturesque panoramic view of the Garibaldi Lake that made this trek absolutely worth it.

From the summit you can see the Black Tusk, Mount Garibaldi and the Tantalus Range spread out in front of you. This hike comes in at around 19 miles and the whole loop takes about 10 – 13 hours depending on your pace and breaks. There are also camping grounds for those who would prefer to split the hike into two more manageable days but this requires extra camping gear to be carried and you need to pre-book the site.

2.    Picos de Europa

A national park located in northern Spain, the Picos de Europa is a spectacular mountain range with dramatic peaks and deep valleys. There is a variety of standout hikes available to suit the difficulty of everyone, from a hike along the Cares Gorge Trail with paths cut out of the rock face to a high-mountain adventure over cratered limestone to a glorious ramble through the Valdeón Valley. The twisting trails through the national park provide beautiful views, tunnels, bridges and sheer drops along the mountain.

Although the name translates to the Spikes of Europe, don’t let this put you off! These striking mountain peaks cover 40km and three different regions of Spain with three river gorges in between.

You may even come across tiny medieval villages with cobbled streets and there are cable cars and funiculars which can help hikers to traverse the steepest of hills. The delicious local food is also worth a try during your stay in this Spanish region.

The gorgeous scenery of the Picos de Europa makes this one of the best hikes in Europe as the canyon is made mostly out of limestone rock which has been carved by glaciers along with a spectacular view full of spiky mountain peaks, lush forests and incredible canyons you can walk through.

3.    Zion National Park (The Narrows)

The Zion National Park is located in Utah, USA and The Narrows, as stated by the name, is the narrowest part of the canyon. This incredible hiking trail is around 30 feet wide with the surrounding gorge walls standing at 1000 feet tall which offers hikers fantastic views of the canyon. The Zion Canyon was formed by rapidly flowing water over millions of years and it is truly a sight to behold. The most popular trail begins at the Temple of Sinawava along the Riverside Walk for 1 mile but if you want to carry on, the next section requires hikers to wade upstream through the gorgeous turquoise waters of the Virgin River.

The best time of the year to visit The Narrows is summer and autumn when the water level is reasonably low and the water is warmer. This is a unique hiking experience that attracts millions of visitors every year and hikers love wading through knee to thigh deep water to fully experience the standout hike. You should aim to at least reach the Orderville Canyon which provides a spectacular yet strenuous 10 mile trail up to Big Spring.

Rainy weather and high water can affect if The Narrows is open for hiking so you must check online before you set off. Flash floods can also occur at any time of year so you should always stay alert during your hike. It is vital that you wear the appropriate hiking trail gear and hiking boots and use a hiking stick to help you navigate over slippery rocks and through the water.

These are just some of the most beautiful hikes in the world and there are so many more magnificent places that avid hikers should explore.
